Following the announcement six months ago that Nokia would be shuttering its U.S. flagship stores, it looks like the New York location is already locked up.

According to Engadget, the Nokia Store on East 57th Street closed permanently yesterday - yet the Chicago location will remain open until an undisclosed date.

The New York Nokia store opened way back in 2006, but it never seemed to draw in the crowds quite like that shiny clear box that is the Apple Store nearby on Fifth Avenue. There just didn't really seem like a need for an entire store dedicated to one brand of mobile devices, most if not all of which can be found at mobile provider stores as well.

Are you going to miss the Nokia Store? Did you ever go in one?
