Nordic storage market generated 744 mln euros in 2004

Nordic market for disk, tape, and storage software only grew by 5% to reach a total value of 744 million euros in 2004, IDC says. While this growth is moderate, a number of new technologies grew significantly faster, indicating a strong change in the way storage is deployed by Nordic companies. Some of the areas showing significant growth in 2004 were storage area networks (SAN), network attached storage (NAS), iSCSI storage, tape automation, and storage resource management software. Growth in these areas was generally in the region of 10-20% in 2004.
