North 22 unit bags US$13m HK deal

SINGAPORE--The Hong Kong unit of mainboard-listed North 22 Technology Services Group Ltd has won a deal that could potentially earn the company HK$100 million (US$12.82 million) over the next 12 months.

According to a statement to the Singapore Exchange, Expert Systems Ltd--a wholly-owned subsidiary of North 22 and an IT systems reseller and integrator in Hong Kong and China--was selected by the Hong Kong Government's Quality Education Fund as a solution provider for the latter's Multimedia Learning Centre (MMLC) initiative.

Under the terms of the agreement, Expert Systems "will have the opportunity to provide the multimedia learning centre application, sophisticated network services, IBM personal computers and servers, IBM Video-On-Demand applications and 3Com networking products to approximately 100 high schools in Hong Kong with a potential revenue amount to approximately HKD100 million (US$12.82 million) over the next 12 months," the statement said.

Work "begins immediately, and is expected to bring in total revenue of at least HK$30 million (US$3.84 million) for the next six months", it added.
