The more control your keyboard offers you the better. Top of the range of Microsoft's new keyboard line-up is the Internet Keyboard Pro. This features 19 hot keys to give you access to a range of functions, with the stress firmly on multimedia and the Web.

There are keys to launch your browser, open your email programme, and controls for audio and video applications. If your PC is sprouting a rash of peripherals then you'll also welcome the keyboard's two USB ports. The long-winded Control Key Shortcut Labels are for instant access to commonly used editing functions, such as paste, cut and copy.

The two Hot Keys can be customised to get you instantly into your top documents, applications or Web sites. For PCs with Power Management capability running Windows 98, there is also a Sleep Hot Key to suspend your PC while you're taking a break.

For those of you prone to the odd bout of RSI, the pain of which I can testify to, there is also a detachable palm rest. Available in November for £39.99.
