The mobile operator O2 has restored coverage to much of the area in the South East that was affected by a theft at one of the company's operational centres.
The outage had affected coverage since the early hours of Tuesday morning. At 5:30pm, O2 revised its earlier statements on the matter, saying some affected customers "were able to make calls again from 4:30 pm, and service across the region is being restored now with a few pockets of no coverage still remaining".
"We are carefully monitoring this throughout the night," the statement added.
The outage has affected parts of north and east London, Kent and East Sussex.
