Olympus has a bit of a teaser introduction for us today from Photokina. The anonymous compact shooter is lined up to be a flagship for the manufacturer, and we know that it will boast a Zuiko lens.

The compact Olympus camera will include an accessory port for attaching accessories such as an external microphone. The port is similar to that seen on the Olympus PEN E-P2 and E-PL1 interchangeable lens cameras, but don't expect this one to be a Micro Four Thirds camera.

Pricing and a release timeline haven't been announced yet (let alone any other details), but perhaps we'll know more after this Olympus shooter makes a scheduled appearance at the PDN PhotoPlus Expo in New York City next month.
