Online ad spend: $26 billion by 2010
Strong growth in Internet advertising spending projected.
Internet advertising spending by advertisers on online display, classified, and paid search advertising, together with classified advertising generated by newspaper Web sites, is forecast to reach almost $26 billion by 2010, according to PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ Global Entertainment and Media Outlook: 2006-2010.
If realized, it would represent over a 60% increase compared to the almost $16 billion Internet ad spend projected for 2006. PriceWaterHouseCoopers concludes:
Internet advertising is growing rapidly, stimulated by an expanding broadband subscriber base and ad formats geared to broadband, including keyword search and full-motion video.
