Online poker is a $1.4 bln industry

Online poker sites raked in $1.4 bln in 2004, according to MarketWatch. There are roughly 1.8 mln online poker enthusiasts. Dennis Boyko from PokerPulse forecasts the revenues to double to $2.8 bln in 2005. 75% of the revenues come from the 3-5% that online players usually leave to the house when playing the game, where the winner takes the entire pot.
