Optus to acquire Ensyst for AU$13 million

Optus has announced that it will acquire Microsoft partner and IT managed services company Ensyst for AU$13 million.

Optus is looking to boost its Microsoft product offering to business customers with the acquisition of IT managed services provider Ensyst.

Under the AU$13 million agreement, Optus will acquire the company, its two offices, and 80 staff members.

Optus Business managing director John Paitaridis said in a statement that Ensyst's partnership with Microsoft and role in the Microsoft Australian Cloud Solution Provider Program would help Optus expand its Microsoft offering.

"We see Ensyst playing a critical role in deepening and enhancing Optus Business' Microsoft capabilities, which is critical for our business and government customers given that Microsoft is a leading provider of enterprise applications," he said.

"Ensyst has proven capability and experience to design, build, and manage on multiple cloud environments, so their expertise provides a good fit to complement skills and services of our ICT business -- particularly in cloud, collaboration, and business applications and services."

Optus Business has had a string of contract wins over the past few weeks, including with Citycom Solutions.
