Detailed product pages of the LX5 in black and white have already been published to Panasonic's U.S. site. Some might call it accidental, but that seems unlikely.
While it looks quite similar to the DMC-GF1, this is definitely not a Micro Four Thirds system. Nonetheless, the 10.1-megapixel shooter does offer some decent stuff, including:
- Leica DC lens with 3.8x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom
- 3.0-inch TFT LCD screen
- ISO up to 12,800
- 720p video recording in AVCHD Lite
- Face detection in both photo and movie modes
- Compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards
- Connectivity: mini-HDMI, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, AV output
- Battery life: Up to 400 snapshots
Unfortunately, photos of the latest Lumix compact digital camera are sparse. But that should change within a few days, along with an update on pricing and a release date.
