PayPal Australia has announced that Jeff Clementz has stepped down as vice president and managing director, with the company appointing Libby Roy as his replacement.
Roy's new role was effective from March 26. She had previously worked with AMP and American Express before joining PayPal Australia.
"This is an exciting time for Libby to join us as we strengthen our focus on merchants and consumers," said Rohan Mahadevan, senior vice president and general manager for PayPal Asia-Pacific.
"Alongside her deep knowledge of technological and digital disruptions, her stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong leadership teams will be valuable as she leads the highly engaged local team to drive the continued profitable growth of our Australia business."
According to the company, Clementz, who was in the vice president and managing director position for three years, is returning to the United States to take up a new role with PayPal as vice president of compliance operational excellence in global operations.
It has been nearly three years since PayPal launched PayPal Here in Australia, a card reader that initially accepted signatures for verification. But since chip technology was mandated across all card payments terminals in Australia last August, PayPal Here was revamped to meet the new requirements.
