PII notebooks set for CeBIT debut

The first wave of Pentium II-based notebooks will be Intel's chief contribution to the CeBIT buzz in Hanover, Germany starting next Thursday, March 19.

Intel will show off models by IBM, Dell, Gateway 2000, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi and Siemens Nixdorf, according to sources.

The firm also plans to show off its Slot 2 server architecture to Press for the first time in Europe, and show simulations of its next-generation IA-64 architecture. Canned demonstrations of its Pandesic e-commerce joint-venture with SAP are also in the offing.
