PSINet Buys 4 Overseas Service Providers

HERNDON, Va., Sept 20 (Reuters) - Internet service provider PSINet Inc. said Monday it had bought Internet service providers in Spain, Brazil and Hong Kong.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The company said in a statement that it had bought two Spanish service providers, Infase Comunicaciones and Ciberia Internet.

Infase provides services to businesses and individual users that include Web hosting. Ciberia provides businesses and consumers with services including dial-up and dedicated access.

PSINET also has purchased ServNet Servicos de Informatica e Communicacao, the largest service provider in the northeastern state of Bahia. The acquisition is PSINet's fifth in Brazil in the last five months.

Vision Network Ltd., a service provider in Hong Kong, also was bought. The company has a mix of corporate and individual customers with business customers making up 60 percent of revenues.
