Psion shuffles executives

New directors for computing, strategy
Written by Matthew Broersma, Contributor

Psion (quote: PON), Europe's leading manufacturer of handheld computers, said Wednesday it has appointed a new head of its computer division and a new strategy director.

The company, which has lost out to 3Com's Palm Computing in the giant US market, appointed Margaret Rice-Jones as managing director of Psion Computers. Rice-Jones, who has held marketing positions at Motorola and De La Rue, replaces David Levin, who will retain his position as Psion CEO.

Nigel Derrett took the position of director of strategy after 16 years at Hewlett-Packard. He will co-ordinate technology and business strategy across the company.
