Qantas dodges Japan flight snare

Airline giant Qantas has today corrected a web glitch that prevented customers from booking flights out of Japan despite flights and seats being readily available.

Qantas told ZDNet Australia this afternoon that online booking system policies relating to Japanese government regulations didn't allow flights to be booked online within three days of the travel date.

The airline advised however that the system rule had been lifted in light of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

"There are plenty of seats available," Qantas assured.
