Opponents in what was expected to be the first legal test of the newly-enacted Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act have opted not to try the case in court and have settled their dispute. Domain holders Justin Nicholas and Aaron Brett of New Zealand have agreed to transfer the AmericasCup.com domain name to Quokka Sports, Inc. which negotiated rights to the domain from trademark holder America's Cup Properties last April. Quokka filed suit against Nicholas and Brett last November under the terms of the newly-enacted U.S. Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. Full story to follow. -- Jennifer Mack, ZDNet News
