EclipseCon 2007: Red Hat and Exadel announced a new partnership today that will see all of Exadel's products released as open source by the middle of this year. Hibernate and JBoss Seam founder Gavin King will "take a prominent role" in leading the direction of the new projects at JBoss.org.

JBoss RichFaces and JBoss Ajax4jsf are immediately available today at JBoss.org under the LGPL license. The Red Hat Developer Studio product (formerly Exadel Studio Pro) will take a bit longer, however. It is expected to be released under the GPL license in 1H2007. Once fully open sourced, binaries for all the individual plug-ins will be available for free, but the Developer Studio package will only be made available as part of a developer subscription.
