Red Hat said Monday that Frank Calderoni, former chief financial officer of Cisco, will be its new chief financial officer.
Calderoni will be in charge of finance, IT and operations at Red Hat. Calderoni has been in the tech industry for three decades and has had stints at SanDisk, QLogic and IBM in addition to Cisco.
For Red Hat, Calderoni will bring knowledge of scaling operations. For instance, Cisco had more than 72,000 employees and $47 billion in revenue in 2014, which was Calderoni's last year. Red Hat is approaching the $2 billion revenue mark.
Calderoni, who will report to Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst, replaces Charlie Peters, who announced he was retiring in December. Calderoni will take over for Peters July 13.
