Red Hat unveils Euro vision
Red Hat, market leader in off-the-shelf Linux heralded a major push into the UK and Europe Wednesday with major distribution and customer support announcements.
The company has appointed Computer 2000 as its first UK distributor and is developing 24/7 multi-lingual European customer support centres. Gem will distribute to the retail channel.
Red Hat also revealed that Global Knowledge had signed an agreement to be its certified training partner in the UK and Ireland, rolling out an official Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) programme
CEO Bob Young said: "It is rare you get the opportunity to push a major wave through the industry. Red Hat Europe makes up fifty percent of that opportunity as far as I can tell."
