IT asset recovery company and reseller Converge has published the findings of some research about disposal of old technology that it commissioned from Osterman Research, an enterprise IT research firm.

The report, titled the "2009 Converge IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Trends Report," finds that while 100 percent of the survey respondents had some insight into their company's e-waste policy, only two-thirds had a formal asset recovery plan. What's more, somewhere around 15 percent of those polled for the report admitted to placing old technology in the dumpster. Yikes!

You can register and download the report at this link. It may give you some ideas for your own company PLUS you can secretly assess how you stand compared with other organizations. Heck, you may even decide to go dumpster-diving.
