Response of the Week: Cyrix chip is voice of reason
David Birt wins a Logitech Pilot mouse for these comments on Cyrix's highly integrated MediaGX processor that will debut in a new Compaq system:
"At last, Cyrix is providing a voice of reason in the wilderness that is PC CPU development. If Intel is content to pump out bigger, hotter chips with more transistors than ever, it will lose market share. For typing pools, Internet-dedicated PCs and terminal replacements, Pentium Pro-type monstrosities are a nonsense."
