Retail IT spending to drop 1% in 2005

The retail industry is projected to spend 1% less on IT in 2005 compared to 2004, when the industry opened its purse 5% wider than in 2003, according to the Meta Group. Spending is also expected to be less than the overall IT spending growth for all industries, which is projected to grow at 4-5% in 2005.
