The integration between the two cloud vendors should make it easier to manage both services for enterprises. ServiceNow and RightScale had enterprise customers that were already combining the two platforms.

Under the integration template, RightScale's cloud management, monitoring and cost tracking tools will integrate into the ServiceNow Service Catalog, Incident Management, Workflow and other tools.

In a nutshell, the integration should make it easier to:

  • Automate and deploy applications to multiple public and private clouds and add them to ServiceNow's service catalog.
  • Analyze cloud infrastructure to make sure they meet budgets and service level agreements.
  • Apply frameworks and processes to cloud infrastructure and synchronize workflows.

RightScale foreshadowed the integration with ServiceNow earlier this month. In a diagram, the combination looks like this:
