Security vendor RSA announced at its conference in San Francisco today a raft of products and partnerships.

Most notable is a link up with Matsushita, a major supplier of wireless phones supporting NTT DoCoMo i-mode services in Japan. RSA will provide SSL encryption software licences for the popular handsets, helping to secure access to online services for i-mode subscribers. The company is also to address the demand for securing broadband networks though a software development kit. RSA claim its software will allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to develop networking products for creating virtual private networks (VPNs) across wired and wireless networks. The Massachusetts-based firm is also to team up with provider of digital signatures Verisign to provide secure wireless transactions for PDA users through an abridged version of its encryption code.
