Sony's upcoming PlayStation Portable 2 has been generating a lot of buzz over the last few weeks, and now the rumor mill says that the PSP2 could have an AMOLED display as well as 3G connectivity.

According to Electronista, the PSP2 could have an always-on 3G connection. No word about pricing or carriers, or if this handheld gaming console will follow suit of e-book readers like the Nook and Kindle with free 3G access.

The Android-based PSP2 was thought to have an LCD, but an AMOLED could turn up and surprise everyone. We could also see something similar to the "reality display" on the Xperia Arc. All in all, we should be seeing something that resembles the mock-up posted above, which as been circling the Interwebs this month.

Hopefully we'll know more on January 27 when Sony is expected to officially unveil the overdue PSP2.
