30/03/2001 It didn't take long, did it? Sega gives up on hardware and, seconds later, says it's going to have eleven games ready to go for the X-Box's launch in the autumn. Which will doubtless include that dratted blue hedgehog. All a little ironic, as Sega was the only games company to fall under Microsoft's blandishments and put Windows CE on its Dreamcast. Everyone ignored it, of course; at least this time the Direct X component of the X-Box has got some track record in gaming. Has Sony done enough with its head start to protect the PS-2 against Microsoft's multi-hundred million marketing splurge? Will Sega do PS-2 software as well, or has Microsoft bought its allegiance? Will all the companies concerned please send me everything they have at once so I can make an informed, sober decision and report it back?
