Thursday 21/06/2001To the White Horse pub in Soho, where a gathering of the old IT Week clan is in full effect. Many of the original team behind the magazine have gone their own way, so it was an enormous pleasure to meet up with numerous techno-hacks and sink beer in memory of the old days.

21/06/2001 To the White Horse pub in Soho, where a gathering of the old IT Week clan is in full effect. Many of the original team behind the magazine have gone their own way, so it was an enormous pleasure to meet up with numerous techno-hacks and sink beer in memory of the old days. And talk with a degree of trepidation about the new: more than one grizzled old journo had taken the consultancy shilling (actually, it's usually much more than a shilling) but that part of the industry is as nervous as the rest and most of them were back on Planet Freelance. However, in fine journalistic tradition the number of bright ideas for new magazines and web sites increased as the level of the beer in the barrel went down. Look out for London Bus User, Pasty Today and Peanutsmuggler.co.uk. What? That last one's taken? Surely not...
