Oh, I woke up this morning... found my computer had changed its mind. Or, to be more accurate, Microsoft had changed it for me. I have broadband. I leave my computer on all the time, serving files and searching for aliens, and I have auto-update enabled on the operating system.

And Microsoft has taken advantage of that to modify my browser so that any 404 Not Found error message during browsing takes me to MSN. I don't want to go to MSN. I don't want those hits registering as part of MSN's figures. I don't want Microsoft to intrude on my day-to-day working in order to sell me things.

Oy! Microsoft! Nooo! But no wonder they have a friend in Dubya -- this is the man who has told the Chinese that yes, they can have more nuclear missiles if they don't kick up a fuss about the missile defence system: more nukes make a safer world, eh? Must have missed that meeting.

Gawd. Americans.
