The company announced Thursday that Deutsche Telekom's customer unit T-Systems will become the provider for Salesforce's German datacenter, as well as partner the cloud service provider in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

Salesforce's German datacenter will be powered completely through renewable energy sources, and is expected to support the firm's cloud computing services across Europe. Datacenter openings in the UK and France are due to open in 2015.

In addition, the two companies said that T-Systems will become the primary reseller for Salesforce's cloud services in the DACH region.

As part of Salesforce's investment in Germany, the firm plans to expand its headquarters in Munich, and will also open a new office in Berlin, adding to the list of Salesforce offices in Munich, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. The cloud service provider also said it plans to add over 500 jobs in Europe, including in Germany, by the end of fiscal year 2015.

Salesforce is also going to sponsor Bundesverband Deutsche Start-Ups in order to foster innovation in German companies, joining other firms including Facebook, Google and Lufthansa Systems.

"Companies that want to benefit from the opportunities of the digital age have to master an ever broader technological spectrum — and Deutsche Telekom's corporate customers unit and Salesforce are now working together to support them on that," said Tim Hottges, Chairman of the Board of Management at Deutsche Telekom. "Together with Salesforce, we are expanding our range of simple and cost-effective cloud services, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, which form such a strong part of our economy in this country."

This week, the cloud service provider also announced the availability of new mobile reports and dashboards for its Salesforce1 Mobile App in order to improve business analytics and cater for the mobile demands of enterprise customers.
