Samsung to complete AST buy
Samsung expects to complete the acquisition of troubled US PC maker AST next month.
Despite having a stake in the notebook PC market and being a leader in hard disk drives, memory and LCD screen technology, the buyout of the loss-making Californian vendor will give the Korean company a springboard into big-time PC sales for the first time.
