Playstation competitor? VM Labs and Samsung Electronics America announced on Wednesday that Samsung would incorporate VMLabs' NUON interactive media processor in a new DVD player. The player, called the DVD-N2000 and due out next spring, will play DVD movies and be able to play a wide variety of entertainment and educational software, when released. VM Labs is trying to lure third-party publishers to develop NUON interactive software that will serve the family market. At least six initial NUON titles are scheduled for release when the DVD-N2000 ships. Peripheral ports will allow users to plug in joysticks, keyboards and other devices. -- Robert Lemos, ZDNN
