It's time for another cloud alliance debut, and this time the coalition is being spearheaded by storage giant Seagate.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based company introduced the Seagate Cloud Builder Alliance on Tuesday with the intention of promoting cloud adoption and growth as the hard drive giant continues to build out its own cloud strategy and solutions.

The Seagate Cloud Builder Alliance wants to promote companies that design and deliver custom servers and storage systems used in cloud data centers.

Scott Horn, vice president of marketing at Seagate, explained the motivation behind this initiative in prepared remarks, citing it as an opportunity to enable the members of the alliance "to deepen their capability to design and deploy solutions that will accelerate private and public cloud adoption and grow their businesses."

Members of the alliance will be treated with resources on both the technical and the sales sides of the cloud from Seagate Design Centers worldwide.

Some of those services include a cloud sales playbook, market insights, customer presentations, and various platform training and certifications.

Tech partners that have already signed up for the alliance range from hardware specialists to SaaS providers, including Ciara Technologies, NuCloud Global, and Supermicro, among others.
