Search engine shares in December 2005: Google - 48.8%, Yahoo! - 21.4%, MSN - 10.9%

Nielsen//NetRatings reported that the total number of searches in the US conducted across approximately 60 search engines grew 55% YTY to nearly 5.1 bln searches in December 2005.

Nielsen//NetRatings reported that the total number of searches in the US conducted across approximately 60 search engines grew 55% YTY to nearly 5.1 bln searches in December 2005. There were 3.3 bln searches conducted via search engines in December 2004. While the number of searches conducted online swelled, the number of people connecting to the Internet rose a mere three% to 207 mln people in the US. There were 3,279,770,000 searches done online in December 2004 and 5,069,377,000 in December 2005.
