If you're planning a Super Bowl party, you should really have a state-of-the-art HDTV. To help, Sears and Best Buy are having some pre-Super Bowl promotions.

Starting with Best Buy, consumers can select from a small pool of LCD and plasma HDTVs, ranging from a 32-inch Panasonic Viera 720p LCD panel for $299.99 (down from $449.99) to a 60-inch 1080p panel from Sharp for $1,199.99 (down from $1,699.99).

Sears has a much larger selection of displays to choose from, and even all Sony TVs are on sale. Everything priced $799 and up guarantees free shipping.  Some of the best deals from this retailer include the 40-inch Sony 1080p LCD HDTV (pictured above) for $584.99, the Panasonic Viera 50-inch Class GT25 Series Full HD 3D 1080p Plasma TV for $1,239.99 (down from $2,000) and the 58-inch Samsung Touch of Color PN58C550G1FXZA 1080p Plasma HDTV for $1,299.99.

Best Buy's sales are good through at least tomorrow (January 22), while Sears will keep the bargain prices in place until Saturday, January 29.
