Worldwide server shipments jumped 12.7% in 2005 while revenues increased 4.5% to $51.68 bln as companies turned to lower-end servers, Gartner said. IBM remained the top server vendor in terms of revenue ($16.61 bln), followed by HP ($14.57 bln), Dell ($5.43 bln) and Sun ($4.95 bln). HP took the lead in unit shipments with 2.09 mln servers. It was followed by Dell with 1.7 mln, IBM with 1.2 mln and Sun with 342,457.
