Siemens backs Symbian in smartphone deal

Siemens has turned to Symbian software from Psion for its next generation of smartphones.

The German giant has signed a licensing deal with Symbian to use its software platform for its future phones. The primary members of the Symbian alliance are Ericsson, Matsushita, Motorola, Nokia and Psion.
