Small business owners' expectations for the economy bumped up in May 2005, according to the Small Business Optimism Index by the National Federation of Independent Business. Small business owners expect GDP growth over the next year to be in the 3.5% range, about where it is now and above the long-term trend growth rate of 3.0%.
