Software to reveal Intel ID
Montreal-based ZeroKnowledge Systems Inc. announced Wednesday it had designed a software program to record Intel Corp.'s controversial processor serial number and save a copy as a cookie for later retrieval.
ZKS pointed to the program as proof that Intel's secure ID was not as safe as the company claimed. While Intel has always admitted such programs were possible in theory, this is the first time that a group has actually created one.
