Some seriously good advice from "Narg"

Last week's discussion of the lawsuit launched in honor of an IT mis-judgment brought a piece of remarkably good advice from a comment writer - not all problems, he said, are computer problems.

Last week's comment about the employee lawsuit against companies who've tied their time clocks to PCs and thus forced employees to contribute unpaid over time waiting for PC boot and shutdown processes, drew, among many others, a three paragraph response from a contributor signing as "Narg."

Here's his first paragraph:

First, buy a real punch clock. Computers are great, but they are not the end-all to every single little need or problem.

We tend to forget that - and certainly someone in IT at the companies being sued should have thought it through a bit before they went the other way: replacing physical time clocks with a PC application.
