In a little over two years Sony has sold over 30 million PS4 consoles, and that's ahead of the busy Holiday season.
Back in March of this year the sales tally stood at a shade over 20 million, which means that Sony is shifting some 1.25 million consoles a month outside of the Holiday season. The company is hoping to sell a further 17.5 million units between now and the end of March 2016.
It's hard to draw any comparisons with sales of the Xbox One since Microsoft hasn't released full sales data since last November, when it reported that it had sold 10 million units. During its 2015 earnings for the financial quarter ending to June 30, Microsoft said it had sold 1.4 million Xbox consoles.
