Both of these micro radios support enhanced DAB+ digital broadcasting with "crystal clear" sound and offer up to 10 DAB/DAB+ presets and 10 FM presets.
Starting with the XDR-S16DBP (pictured above), this old school-like radio sports dual 0.8W stereo speakers, a 16x2 character LCD display, a headphones jack and a sleep timer to conserve power. The XDR-C706DBP is equipped with a much larger LCD display, and it features all the usual bells and whistles of a DAB/DAB+/FM alarm clock radio such as that sleep timer and a snooze button.
The XDR-C706DBP is definitely classic and sleek with a simple black, white and gray motif. However, the retro-awesome styling of the XDR-S16DBP would definitely spruce up my nightstand.
Unfortunately, DAB radio technology isn't used widely (yet) around the world. If these DAB radios get a North American release at all, it will only be in Canada. However, both of these Sony gadgets are available in Europe now.
