South Korea's exports of information technology goods surged 61% on-year to $6.53 billion in May as robust shipments of memory chips and mobile handsets drove exports to a new monthly record. Sales of semiconductors, mainly dynamic random access memory chips used in personal computers and flash memory, used in devices such as MP3 players and digital cameras, surged 67% to $2.38 billion from $1.43 billion a year earlier.
