Spb Mobile Shell improves Phone Edition functionality

pb Software House develops some of the best mobile software and they just released a new application for Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone Edition devices called Spb Mobile Shell. Spb Mobile Shell significantly improves the main user interface on these touch screen devices by providing important information on a single screen that is easily navigated with a finger tap. I especially like the looks and functionality of the Spb Menu Actions where your programs appear as large button links and then actions such as New Text Note can be initiated all from quick taps on the display without having to dive down into the programs.

One of my first high end wirelessly connected mobile devices was a Pocket PC Phone Edition. In the last year I made a move towards using Windows Mobile and S60 smartphones without touch screen interfaces because those devices with a touch screen generally required two hands and a lot more user interaction to complete the same tasks that could be done with a single directional pad. I will have to try out Spb Mobile Shell on the i-mate JAQ3 Phone Edition I am testing out.

You can check out a couple of full reviews of this new application at Pocket PC Thoughts and Aximsite. Spb Mobile Shell is available now for US$29.95 and there is also a 15-day trial version available.
