Splunk named Snehal Antani, a former chief information officer at GE Capital, as its chief technology officer.
In a statement, Splunk said Antani will help direct the company's long-term technology vision across its various product lines. Antani will report to CEO Godfrey Sullivan and work closely with Guido Schroeder, senior vice president of products, and Stephen Sorkin, chief strategy officer.
Splunk is a platform for analyzing machine data and is rapidly expanding beyond core IT and security use cases into other business functions in enterprises.
Sullivan said Antani, who was a CIO at multiple divisions of GE Capital and an exec at IBM before that, his new hire was a key source of customer feedback about Splunk technologies.
GE Capital is a Splunk customer.
Splunk will announce its first quarter results on May 28.
