One of the best phone offered by Sprint has gotten a whole lot better. Sprint is slashing the already-superb Nexus S by $100 to $99, making Google's flagship Android device the one to beat on the carrier. Best Buy, too, has made the price cut.

Of course, the offers still requires a two-year contract. But considering that the Nexus S one phone guaranteed to get update support from Google for at least that long, that two-year span may not be all that bad.

Spec-wise, the Nexus runs Android 2.3 on a 4-inch screen and 1GHz processor. It also features support for near-field communications, meaning that one day, likely quite soon, you'll be able to use the device to make purchases.

Oh, and just a quick note: Before all the carrier subsides and price cuts, the Nexus S runs for a wallet-busting $529.99. What a world.
