StarHub appoints senior VP (International & Wholesale divison)

StarHub has appointed Michael Reynolds as senior vice president of StarHub's International & Wholesale Division.

Michael Reynolds StarHub has appointed Michael Reynolds as senior vice president of StarHub's International & Wholesale Division. Reynolds will be responsible for product development, carrier services, business planning and development, international network planning, as well as the development of the wholesale market. Reynolds will take over this portfolio from John Poston, who has been with StarHub since September, 1999.

Reynolds is a veteran in the telecommunications industry, having spent almost half of his 48 years working in all aspects of the industry for BellSouth Corporation in the American, European and Asia Pacific regions.

After receiving his MBA from the University of Georgia, Reynolds first joined BellSouth (then known as Southern Bell) in 1977 and spent the next 12 years in a variety of roles in the fixed and mobile segments of the business, including sourcing, developing and marketing new products and services for cellular and corporate markets. In 1990 he was appointed to director of Business Development at BellSouth International.

Reynolds' first exposure to the Asia Pacific region came a year later when he was posted to Hong Kong as part of the Asia Pacific Corporate Development Team. He then moved to Singapore when he was promoted to executive vice president of BellSouth International's Asia Pacific division. In 1996, Reynolds moved to New Zealand, where he served as general manager of Corporate Development of BellSouth New Zealand, a nationwide GSM cellular operator.

Shortly a year later, he was posted to Tampa, Florida after being appointed CEO of BellSouth International Wireless Services (BSIWS), and played a key role in leading BSIWS from its formative days to becoming the leading international mobile roaming company for Latin America.

Prior to joining StarHub, Reynolds was based in Beijing as the president of BellSouth China's operations where he was in charge of business development and government relations.
