In this edition of Start IT up, ScriptRock co-founder Leo Venegas points to a modern smartphone as a device filled with personalised configurations. The device and its apps have been adapted to suit our preferences, making every phone almost unique. He says that the same problem applies in a business environment, except the complexity is multiplied many times over.

This creates an issue for companies that need a simple way to know how systems have been configured and how it is expected to perform. With this information stored, tests can be run to determine the impact of any changes in the system or the applications before any damage is done.

ScriptRock is designed to remove the headache for organisations who struggle to understand how systems are configured after years of involvement from a myriad of staff across the organisation. Basically, it intends to provide the single source of truth.

They could be onto something. What do you reckon? Watch the video and take part in our poll.
