3D printing vendor Stratasys hired a top Hewlett-Packard executive as its new chief marketing officer.
Stratasys said it appointed Chris Morgan to chief marketing officer. Morgan will lead the marketing strategy at Stratasys with global expansion as a primary goal.
Morgan was a senior vice president in HP's printing and personal systems group. He also led the Asia Pacific/Japan business at HP's imaging and printing unit from 2004 to 2009. From 2001 to 2004 he led marketing for the printing unit.
The timing of the Morgan appointment is interesting. HP just said it would enter the 3D printing market in 2016. Stratasys is among the leading players in 3D printing today.
