The Sun Fire 280R server is powered by up to two high-performance UltraSPARC -III processors and features redundant hot-swap power supplies with independent power cords, hot-plug power subsystems, and front-accessible drives. Its fibre-channel hard disk drive backplane offers software-mirrored hot-plug boot drives. It provides automatic system recovery and remote system control for simple, lights-out management. And with its 4U form factor, the Sun Fire 280R server fits neatly in standard 19-inch racks.
