Now underway in San Jose, Spring Von 2007 (you were expecting 1924?) is chock full of new products and software applications to improve both enterprise and consumer-themed VoIP offerings and operations.

Here's one of the ones that kind of leaped out at me as something important to more than just network engineering types:

Brix Networks, which is a provider of converged service assurance solutions, says it is collaborating with Cisco's Linksys division for automated endpoint monitoring for SunRocket members. The way this will work is that the solution will be compatible with Linksys home networking devices to automate SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) media loopback testing across the network or even to individual subscribers.

The goal: quicker diagnosis of technical issues, and as you might conclude, faster fixes, too.
